Together Forever - Painted Flowers

by - November 01, 2017

Some cards are a struggle to finish. Nothing seems to come together and nothing is screaming perfection at you while you're crafting. This, however, was not one of those cards.

I've had this Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set for a little while and have tried to use it several times. I couldn't ever figure out how to layer them and thought it would look like a total mess if it wasn't perfect. Then I watched Emelie Hessler's YouTube video featuring them, and decided to give it another go. I didn't layer them perfectly but I think that may be the point. It is, after all, supposed to appear as if the flowers are painted.

I first stamped the outline of the flowers next to each other to form a bed of sorts for the word "forever" from the Petal and Palettes set by Concord and 9th. I then stamped the filler stamp in a lighter shade, and the detailed filler stamp in a slightly darker shade. I really really love the way these look. They give such a soft and feminine vibe.

Then I stamped the word forever with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I debated over stamping the word Together or the word Friends to complete the sentiment. I ultimately chose Together and decided to stamp it in VersaFine black ink to tie in the black lines of the flowers.

And I (of course) included a few iridescent sequins here and there to add some sparkle. I then cut the card front down to 4 X 5.25", just smaller than an A2 sized card. I adhered it with foam tape to a white 110lb card base. I decided to use white on white because I thought it gave this a really clean feel suitable for a wedding card, anniversary card, or just to send some love.

I hope that you enjoyed reading about how I created this card! I'll see you soon!
