Classy and Whimsical - Concord and 9th for Drive By Crafts

by - March 23, 2018

Happy Friday everyone! Today I'm sharing a personal card that I made for a friend of mine (Hi Amanda!). Her birthday is coming up and some friends are getting together for dinner to celebrate tonight. She's got such a beautifully silly, yet classy personality and I wanted that to shine through in my card for her. Does that sound a bit cheesy? I don't know, I feel like making a card for a friend should reflect them in some way to make it more personal than all of the others I make in a week (or a day depending on how much craft time I get!)

I used the Concord and 9th Polka Dot Turnabout stamp to create a patterned card stock. I only stamped it one time to keep it very clean and simple, but I still feel like the polka dots give a bit of a whimsical feel. The fact that there isn't a real pattern or rhyme or reason to the placement of the dots makes it that much more fun.

I immediately thought of the Wonderful Florals stamp and die set because, well, I'm obsessed. And also I thought the letter dies would look especially nice once I stamped them with the lined square stamp included in the set. To add a little color and girly flair to the card, I included some of the stand alone flowers and colored them with Copic markers. Finally, I added the sentiments "For A" and "Friend" to make the totally appropriate sentiment "For A Wonderful Friend".

And then I added some sequins. Because, sparkle. :) Have a wonderful weekend friends! See you soon!
