Wow Embossing Powder Blog Hop with Catherine Pooler
Hi there! Today I am so grateful to be a part of the WOW Embossing Powder and Catherine Pooler Designs blog hop. We've got lots of great inspiration and prizes for you today. It's a big hop, so lets just jump right in!
Here's a video for my first card showing how I used Aladdin and Rose Glintz powders together with the brand new and already super popular Twisted Sunburst stencil. Check it out below.
Next, I decided to go a bit of a different route. We've got the sun so lets get some stars on the board. Here I created this peaceful starry night scene but actually had in mind those old bead curtains you'd hang in doorways. You know the ones; for some reason people preferred them to doors in the 70's.
Not sure why that popped into my head but I couldn't shake the thought, so I created this using Cloud 9 embossing powder for the stars and a white gel pen for the "beads". I also used Catherine's brand new Starlight stamp and coordinating die set on a background of light blue watercolor night sky.

Finally, I wanted to show that embossing doesn't always mean sparkles. Most of us love them but I definitely know a few people who twitch at the thought of glitter getting everywhere. WOW has a great line of powders that have no glitter and are just as beautiful.
I used the new Say It In Diamonds stamp set to create a "leafy" background using Garden Party and Seafoam inks. For the two leaf diamonds surrounding the center saying, I used WOW's Earthtone Olive powder to bring some more color and texture to the design without adding unnecessary shimmer. Finally, I finished it off using some of Catherine's new Paisley's & Peacocks patterned paper as the lining for the envelope.
