Catherine Pooler Kind Of Batty Release Blog Hop Day 2!
Hello crafters! It's day 2 of the Kind Of Batty release blog hop and today I've got some spooky tricks and treats to share with you! Today, I'm focusing on products from the Going Batty portion of the release so it's looking very halloween-y (HA! weeny) over here.
Here's a video I put together showing how I created these really fun and festive paper bag lanterns using the Who's There cover plate die. These are great for parties, table decor, or even your walkway on halloween for trick-or-treaters! Check it out :)
My neighbors looked at me a little sideways when I started putting these out on my patio to take photos. What can I say? I'm excited for fall! My daughter loved getting in on the fun and helped me glue the pieces together, put the paper bags in and turn the battery powered tea lights on to see the eyes glow. I love when I can get my kids involved with my crafts.
My next project is a bit more what I'm used to. I used the Going Batty background stamp in midnight ink on a piece of A2 sized purple card stock. I love purple and black for halloween colors and this turned out better than I could have hoped for. Halloween cards aren't something I typically send, but I'm a card maker at heart so I had to make at least one! I also used the witch from the Spooky Hallow stamp set and used the coordinating die to cut her out. Coordinating dies are so important for these small images that I can never seen to fussy cut correctly.
Just for fun, I used the "Happy Holidays" sentiment because I imagined the card coming from a witch and thought this must be her idea of a happy holiday. ;)
Last but not least, I have this fun treat bag filled with candy that I created a topper for. I love the idea of giving out small bags of candy at a halloween party or even to trick-or-treaters. A whole bag of candy will definitely make you the favorite on your block!
I used the scalloped edge die from the Tags Etc. die set and folded it in half after stamping and embossing the spider web background stamp. For the Trick or Treat sentiment I used WOW Embossing Powder's Flourescent Green powder on vellum to make it appear as if it were glow in the dark. I used Grass Skirt for the spiders and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. After everything was adhered to the folded die cut, I put it over a small plastic cellophane bag filled with candy and stapled it shut.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of the fun projects I created using the Going Batty portion of the release. Let me know which product from the entire release is your favorite. Be sure to comment on each post, each day for your chance to win $25 to the shop! Happy hopping!

ReplyDeleteYou will definitely be the fave on your block with those adorable and fun treat bags!! But then you'll have to buy extra candy every year to fill them! LOL Not feasible here where we get at least 50 kids. haha One year there were over 80!! But it would be fun to make maybe 10 or so and just give out randomly. Hmmm ... you got me thinkin'!! Great projects!
