Watercolor Wanderlust

by - August 14, 2018

Hi there! I'm super excited to be showing another stamp and die set created by Stephanie Low for Spellbinders. Stephanie always creates such beautiful individual designs and this is no exception. The  Wanderlust set from the Inked Messages collection is so beautifully done that I knew I needed to make it the star of a Bon Voyage card.

I just love the intricacies on the globe stamp and thought rather than coloring it in, I would let the detail shine by simply heat embossing it. To still spotlight the world traveler idea, I used blue and green watercolors to create an earth-like pattern and then used Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities dies to cut out my piece for the card front. I then used white embossing powder to emboss the globe image and the word WANDERLUST onto the circle die cut. Before adhering that to my card front with craft foam, I adhered a piece of vellum paper cut with the next size up in the nestabilites dies, just to add a little softness and interest to the card.

I love using watercolor splatter on watercolored cards but usually always go for black. To draw in the earth colors, I decided to use the same blue and green colors for the splatter that I used for the circle die. I then stamped the "an adventure is always a good idea" sentiment in black on the bottom portion of the card and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. This helps the sentiment stand out and look a bit more bold.

I hope that you've enjoyed seeing my take on this Spellbinders stamp and die set! All of the items used are link below. I'll see you soon!
