Spellbinders + Jane Davenport - Artomology

Hello there! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I'm excited to be sharing a few products that I've never used before by Spellbinders and Jane Davenport. The new Artomolgy collection is super versatile with its stamps, glimmer plates, and exciting mediums that can be used for so many things!

First, I'm featuring the Free Spirit stamp set along with the Make a Splash Shimmer Pastel Set. If you've ever seen any of my designs, you'll know that I tend to veer toward a more clean and simple look, so to say that these pastels intimidated me is an understatement. I watched a few videos by Jane showing how wonderfully the pastels blend onto paper and create a beautifully soft look, so I decided just to jump in and give it a try.

I decided to use them on her dress and create a sort of ombre look with the purple and blue shades in the palette. The medium impressed me so much with how simple the blending was and how user friendly it turned out to be. To blend them onto the stamped image, I used the Baton Blenders which worked perfectly. I finished coloring the girl's skin and hair with Copic markers and then fussy cut her out to place her onto a piece of watercolor washed card stock that I'd previously created. The sentiment "Shine Light" inspired me to create beams of light coming in from the top left with white pigment ink and a sun-ray stencil from my stash. To create the sparkly sequin look on her dress, I used Copic markers in grays, blues, and purples to make dots in different sizes all around the dress. Periodic dots from a white gel pen helped drive home the shine illusion as well.

I decided to get a little silly for my second project featuring the Artomology collection. Using the Crowned Royalty Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and some patterned paper, I foiled the crown in gold foil to the top center of the paper. I then used the accompanying perimeter die to cut it out of the patterned paper and adhered that over vellum to the same place it was cut out from. This gave a bit of contrast to help the crown pop a bit more. For added fun, I used some letter stamps from my stash to create the sentiment "Yaass Queen" just below the crown. I love this card for a friend who's got the job they wanted, finished their classes, or just to show your love for.

I hope that you've enjoyed learning a bit about how I used the new Artomology collection from Spellbinders and Jane Davenport. Check out all the links to the products below!
