Altenew Build-A-Flower: Stargazer Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Well, hello again! It's the first and you know what that means...Build A Flower release day! This month we're introducing the Stargazer into the BAF family and it is absolutely beautiful! Be sure to leave a comment on this post to enter our giveaway. More on that, later!
I went way out of my comfort zone for my card today with a deep blue front and bright blue florals. I used a piece of blue card stock and ink blended Desert Night around the edges to give the center a glowing effect.
GIVEAWAY: To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog for a chance to win. We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew Card Blog on 12/8/2019.
I decided to use the same blue card stock for my center focal point and used the Mega Alphabet letter T die. I love the idea of florals wrapping around these large letter dies, so thats exactly what I did here. This Stargazer specifically has such a great shape for this wrapping technique with the blooming petals stretching in different directions.
For my flowers, I used the Cool Summer Night mini ink cube set to keep a monotone look to my card while adding some vibrancy to the design. To help the "T" stand out, I outlined the die cut with a gold gel pen to add contrast. I decided to go with a gray color for the leaves to keep them understated, as I thought green may be too much color for the monotone design of the card. After intertwining my florals with the mega "T" die, I didn't want to cover it with a sentiment, but I'm not one to leave a sentiment off, so I included the "Thankful for the day I met you" sentiment to the bottom right and called it done!
I hope that you've enjoyed seeing how I used the newest member of the Build A Flower family. Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a gift card to Altenew, and continue on with the hop to the incredibly talented Therese Calvird.
