Altenew March 2020 Washi Tapes Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

by - March 10, 2020

Hello Altenew friends! I'm thrilled to introduce you to some brand new washi tapes that are available today from Altenew! I'm particularly excited about a home decor project I undertook with one of the (incredibly large) wash tapes. Let's get right into it, shall we?! We shall!

This project is a huge WIN for me. Many of you probably do not know that I am totally in love with home decor and farmhouse style. This Wild Flora washi tape has the perfect pattern and colors to serve as proper wallpaper and the size of it isn't far off, either. At 11.5" by 10m it's a HUGE roll of washi tape. To fill in this accent wall of my powder room I needed just three strips side by side. Since I'm used to working with wash tape, the application was very simple for me and as an added bonus, it's temporary which is great since we're renting at the moment.

I also collect vintage items like the tin you see here which is from the 1970's. It so happens to match the washi tape design perfectly so I decided to use it as a vase for artificial flowers as decor for my powder room. I'm beyond happy with the outcome of this project and I'm so glad I was able to come out of my comfort zone and use this product in another way that I love.

Let's talk about prizes!
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 3/18/2020 for a chance to win. We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 3/21/2020.

Back to card making!

This card is another that isn't typical of my "style" but I love the way it came out. I used the new Round Art washi tape with circle nested dies to cut out individual circles to create this patterned design on my card front. I used foam tape to pop up the die cuts which creates some extra interest with dimension and depth. For my sentiment I used the Hello and Hugs stamp and die set in coordinating navy blue colors which pair perfectly with the design of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that you've gotten some inspiration from my projects today. I'd love to know what your favorite tape is from the newest release! You next stop on the hop is the incredible Nicole Watt

  14. Wow!! That washi tape looks awesome in your powder room!! How well do you think it will stick? I've had (cheap) brands of washi tape that peels up right away, which makes me not such a fan. But Altenew's are beautiful and very tempting. The card is so fun with those awesome circle patterns.

  49. WHOA! L❤VE the project YOU shared. I do believe you may have solved my bathroom dilemma. I may just washi tape the walls INSTEAD of painting again. That is gorgeous. This is your powder room...do you think it would hold up in a bathroom w/shower??? Let us know how it holds up, pls. If it doesn't hold up to lots of steam, I'd rather use that pretty washi elsewhere. I LOVE it. Thnx SOOO much for this idea & being willing to share.
