Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Iris & Watercolor Essential Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hey, there! I'm thrilled you could join me on the Altenew March Paint-A-Flower, Essential Watercolor, and Watercolor Card Stock release. I know what you're thinking; another watercolor palette? Yes! This one has such different properties than the last two releases and you'll see why in my project today. Before we get started, let's talk about PRIZES! Everyone's favorite, right?
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog for a chance to win. We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 03/31/2020.
For my project using the Paint A Flower: Iris release, I used the new Essentials Watercolor Palette but made sure to utilize the incredible transparency of colors that this palette provides. For the base color I, of course, used Deep Irish and continued on the outer perimeters of each petal with the blue shade included in that palette. This was simple to incorporate as the transparency of the colors worked well with each other to create new hues and highlight the natural shadows and highlights of an Iris flower.
Finally, as with most of my watercolor pieces, I used Primsacolor colored pencils before finishing the project to create more depth and dimension to the petals and greenery of the image. The new watercolor card stock allowed me to create these projects without worrying about the quality of stamping and even flawlessly showed the sentiment stamp with no problems at all. As a stamper, this is extremely important to me, obviously, and with most watercolor paper I usually have to stamp at least 2 or 3 times to get a nice, crips image for coloring.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed learning a bit about how I created this project with the new Paint A Flower and Watercolor release from Altenew! As always, you can find the full list of product links below and the full hop list. Don't forget to leave a comment on each stop for your chance to win!
