Pretty Pink Posh Release Inspiration with Ellen Hutson

by - March 21, 2020

Hello friends! Thank you so much for coming by my stop on the Pretty Pink Posh blog hop with Ellen Hutson. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to create with some products from the newest PPP release and would love to just get right to it!

First, I created this simple but striking card to welcome Paulina's beautiful new baby. The Tulips Stamp and Coordinating Die sets are perfect for this simple design type card. The florals themselves are large enough to take up much of the front of an A2 size card, and the illustration is perfect for whichever coloring medium is your current favorite.

To begin, I stamped these tulips in a No-Line ink on some watercolor card stock. No-Line ink allows for an art-sy, soft look. I used a fadeout watercolor technique to create the soft looks of the petals and then used colored pencils to enhance the shadows and depth of the Tulips.

I decided to keep the card very clean because of the detail I was able to put into the petals. I love the idea of having no distractions against the image and dainty, lettered sentiment. For an even fresher look, I added some "dew drops" using clear enamel dots framing the flowers.

My next project features the beautiful Decorative Cross Die from the March release. This entire image is one piece and has so many possibilities. I again opted to use bright colors with a clean white background to enhance the detail and design of the image. I also left this card without a sentiment because I think the image and feel of the design speaks for itself, and can be used for so many different occasions.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope that you'll continue to hop along with us and comment on each stop for your chance to win $25 to the Ellen Hutson shop! Be sure to comment before Wednesday, March 25th! The winner will be notified by email.
