Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Anemone Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello crafty friends! Welcome to my stop on the Paint-A-Flower blog hop. I'm so excited you could join us today for the release of the Anemone PAF set. Before I dive into details, I'd love for you to check out my brand new Lovely Layering with Ashlea video featuring this set. You can view it here!
I love being able to stretch my supplies so I've decided to take this bouquet stamp and create a few different patterns for cards using it in slightly different ways. First, I used a simple masking technique to create a DIY background stamp pattern and colored it in using Artist Markers from Altenew.
For more details on how exactly I managed my way coloring through this trove of flowers, check out the video above!
Prizes:
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog for a chance to win. We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 05/30/2020.
Next, I decided to actually paint my Paint-A-Flower. This time stamping different parts of the bouquet image around the perimeter of my card stock, I created a wreath effect which showcased my bold Fancy For You die sentiment perfectly.
Because I used a no-line watercoloring technique, I used Butternut ink to stamp my images. A common misconception is that to create no-line colored images you need a dedicated no-line ink, but that simply isn't true. This light yellow shade ink works wonderfully as a no-line ink alternative, and your recipient would never know it!
Thank you so much, again, for stopping by today. Be sure to leave a comment before hopping along to your next stop, which is my friend, the always talented Jaycee Gaspar.
You can find the full hop list just beneath the product links below. I hope you have a great day, and hope to see you again soon!

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are very pretty but I absolutely love the no line watercolor.
ReplyDeleteWow, the way you delicately colored the anemone are gorgous. That fancy for you die is perfect for these cards.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so lovely - it's great to see so many variations with both how to use the stamp set and how to add color. And your coloring technique is beautiful - a skill I certainly have not mastered (& not enough patience either)! But I am excited to give the no-line coloring a try, now that I know I don't need the special ink - yay to using what we've already got onhand - so helpful!
ReplyDeleteAlso really appreciated the tip on creating your own metallic cardstock - brilliant!
Thank you, thank you!
Gorgeous cards and painting. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove your cards!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes went straight to the purple card...my favorite color ;) You did purple proud! lol
ReplyDeletePretty colors and I like the sparkle.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all your tips and tricks in the video and narrative. I didn't know about using something like the Butternut ink for a no-line watercoloring technique. Good to know. I was fascinated to watch how you created the background stamping and those tips I will try to use in my next project. Love your video style as it is easy and flows well (and sorry you were not feeling well; video was great.). I had just received my "For You" die so when I get my Anemone stamp I'm going to muster my nerve to try this. Thanks for your efforts in teaching us how to make great cards like yours!
ReplyDeleteThese are so gorgeous!! Love the sparkle on that fabulous die cut sentiment!
ReplyDeleteI just love the outline of the flowers and beautiful painting!
ReplyDeleteLove that purple and pink so much! So artistic and perfect way to use the new PAF. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I like your way of adding the embossing to the paper and then die cutting. Much easier than die cutting first.
